Education Week
This symbol showing a child holding an open book has been chosen by the Department of Education as the symbol for Education Week, which will be held throughout New Zealand from July 19 to 25. The week is New Zealand’s contribution to InternaI tional Education Year. 1970. as designated by the United Nations General Assembly. (The symbol will be used on I
all publicity material and correspondence sent by the department to schools and organisations participating in Education Week. Activities will be held on both national and regional levels during the week. These will include, open days at schools and educational institutions, visits to schools by celebrities from all walks of life, and sixth form sym- | possums.
