Tree Was In Golfer’s Way
(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) LONDON A Somerset golfer had a handicap—a 40ft oak tree that stood in the middle of the seventeenth fairway of the Taunton and Pickeridge club course at Corfe, the “Daily Sketch” reported. On Wednesday, balls were still rlcochetting from its branches. The next day the tree was gone—sawed down by an angry golfer in the middle of the night. Officials at the $42 a year club are calling a special meeting to discuss the action of the golfer.
