Post Office Engineer A Post Office engineer in Christchurch (Mr L. E. Zwimpfer) has won a scholarship to study telecommunications at the General Electric Company’s plant in England Mr Zwimpfer joined the Post Office engineering division in 1966 and completed his university studies last year, gaining a bachelor of engineering degree with firstclass honours. His studies were financed by a Post Office bursary scheme. He is one of two New Zealanders to go to England for telecommunications study for two years. The regional engineer (Mr H. W. Wilkinson) said yesterday that the training Mr Zwimpfer would receive in England would be of great benefit in the advancement ot telecommunications in New Zealand. The General Elec trie Company was a major supplier of equipment to the Post Office and had awarded scholarships to other Post Office staff in the past.
