By-election For One Seat

A by-election will be held in Christchurch city tomorrow to fill the vacancy on the Christchurch Drainage Board caused by the death of Mr F. R. Price, who was the board’s chairman.

There are three candidates, Messrs R. A. Bamford, an independent, J. F. Davidson, a Labour Party candidate who lost his seat on the board at the local body elections in October, 1968, and N. W. Whyte, a Citizens' Association candidate who stood unsuccessfully m 1968.

Forty-five polling plsees have been provided in the city and suburbs and all electors bn the City Council roll are entitled to vote.
