U.K. Election Timing
(N.Z.P A.-Reuter—Copariohp LONDON, April 17. The Prime Minister, Mr Wilson, last night hinted that Britain could not expect a general election before the northern autumn. In a television interview, Mr Wilson said he could not give an exact date for the election, but added: “We shall choose the proper time. We have a certain amount of business to get through.” Political observers said that the Parliamentary legislative programme was considerably congested, and it would take all the ingenuity of the Government’s business managers to get the top bills through before the summer recess.
