Theft Of Wigs In Auckland

(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, April 17. After a smash-and-grab raid yesterday a youth was arrested with a missing platinum wig on his head, Sergeant A W. Tremewan told the Auckland Magistrate’s Court today Monty Cassino Taua, aged 20, unemployed, pleaded guilty to damaging a Post Office telephone, and breaking and entering the Wig Shoppe in the municipal transport station. Sergeant Tremewan said that Taua had ripped a headset off a public telephone, smashed a window, and had stolen nine wigs, five falls and one wiglet. Mr D. G. Sinclair, S.M., convicted and remanded Taua to April 24 for a probation officer’s report and sentence.
