STREAMLINING (C. 1930-1945): False streamlining, tear-drop forms, asymmetry, horizontal stress, wrap-around banding, jelly-mould, soft forms, three-line accents, slatting, reeding, ball corners.

TAPERFORM (C. 1945-1957): Trapezoidal solids, crisp corners, tapered, frenched panels, boomerang, saddle and jog accents, facetted accent jewellery, conical knob caps, jet aviation allusions.

THE SHEER LOOK (1957): Box-like solids, thin-edged bezels and trim, asymmetrical panel division, small-scale patterns, spin-brushed knobs and panels, rectangular escutcheons, butterfly and slant panels, refinement in detail. '

THE SCULPTURED LOOK (C. 1960): Curved, carved solids, lens forms, conic sections, flying wedge forms, peaked edges, pulled-out, chewinggum forms, scooped minor forms, trumpet forms, influence of claymodelling.
