(N.Z.P.A .-Reuter—Copyright I LONDON, April 7.
Britain's airlift of troops and equipment to the Far East next week-end, for a Commonwealth military exercise, will be done by 125 transport aircraft sorties. Parliament was told last night. The exercise will test Bri. tain’s ability to fly out troops quickly and effectively to aid her allies in an emergency after the withdrawal of British forces from Malaysia and Singapore bases by the end of 1971.
The armies, navies and air forces of Malaysia, Singapore, Australia and New Zealand are joining in the exercise, which is also intended to strengthen military co-opera-tion between the five Commonwealth nations.
