Violence In Istanbul

Right and Left-wing students fought a pitched battle with guns, knives and petrol bombs on the campus of Istanbul University yesterday.
Three students and the university’s personnel officer were injured, and uncon firmed reports say that two passers-by, a man and a woman, were injured by shots as they walked past the university entrance.
One student is in a serious condition with a bullet in bis lungs and a stab wound in the chest. The two other students and the university officer were injured by petrol bombs. Immediately after the clash, the university's president closed the establishment until further notice.
