Prices
Sir, —I think it is about time the Government stepped in and did something about the irresponsible actions of C.A.R.P. and the Otago Drivers’ Union. Were it not for the big companies of New Zealand, the consumer would be paying much higher prices for essential commodities. One must have a huge turnover to be able to sell cheaply, and that is what Lever Bros and Wattle Canneries are doing. One sees “specials” of both these companies’ products at the supermarkets every day of the week. If unions are going to take over, all I can say is.— Yours, etc., GOD DEFEND NEW ZEALAND. April 7, 1970.
