The Play of the Year! PIQUANT SERVING OF SAUCINESS . . . PLABA SUITE which opened last night is basically of the genre of bright bedroom comedies that spell box-office with a capital “B” it is good theatre and unashamedly, its object is to entertain and this it does very well. It is the formidable acting skill of Googie Withers that makes of this airy souffle a dish acceptable even to those who prefer the red meat of theatrical fare —a performance one would expect to be of stellar quality, and it is. Alfred Sandor has a fine ear for the precise intonation of a telling line and his sketch of an emotionally and professionally insecure Hollywood producer, trying to negotiate the showbiz and sexual switch-back, were bang on target. Do see it as an example of pure professionalism. NEW ZEALAND HERALD.
