Business Game For High Schools

(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, February 27. A contest in decision-making for business management will be sponsored in secondary schools in New Zealand’s main centres.

The contest, which will start in April, was announced today by Mr P. J. I. Olliver, of Gisborne, president of the Society of Accountants, which is sponsoring the contest in association with International Computers (N.Z.), Ltd. The contest is for sixthform students and schools participating will be in the Auckland. Wellington and Dunedin-Christchurch areas. Known as “the business management game," it will test the skill and judgment of potential business leaders and introduce students to the use of computers and electronic data processing in business management. The participating teams will have two rounds of decision making. The regional finals will be held in August and the national finals in September.

In England more than 3000 pupils from 243 secondary schools have been taking part , in a contest and similar contests are being run in Aus- i tralia and South Africa. 1 There is a possibility of an ( international contest for sec- i ondary school teams later. |
