THE UNIVERSITY OF NEW ENGLAND Applications are invited for the undermentioned positions: LECTURER IN PSYCHOLOGY Applicants should be qualified to conduct the introductory course in general psychology and to offer courses at the higher under-graduate and graduate levels preferably in one or more of the fields of perception, learning, cognitive processes, motivation and personality." Asia, Asia, or Europe, economics of development, sociological theories of social change, the application of mathematical techniques to economic history. Both positions are available on either a shortterm (3 years) or permanent basis. In the case of a short-term appointment. a contribution of up to $BOO will be paid towards the Appointees’ return expenses after 3 years’ service and a pro rata amount after 2 years’ service. DEMONSTRATOR IN PHYSIOLOGY Applications are invited from Graduates in Science, Agricultural Science, Veterinary Science, Rural Science or related disciplines for the position of Demonstrator in Physiology. The Department teaches in the faculties of Science and Rural Science in the second, third and fourth years of the Undergraduate, courses. The practical work includes experiments in general Physiology, Systematic Mammalian Physiology and environmental Physiology with special reference to domestic and other animals. The Undergraduate student enrolment in the Department is approximately 160. The successful applicant will be encouraged to study for a higher degree, the Research Projects within the Department include Haematology, Physiological Chemistry, Environmental Physiology, Reproduction and Endocrinology. Physiological Surgery and Ruminant Digestion. Some of the Department will be accommodated in its new premises by the middle of 1970. (March 6, 1970.) TEMPORARY OR PART-TIME DEMONSTRATOR IN BIOCHEMISTRY AND NUTRITION The successful applicant will be expected to demonstrate Biochemistry to Second Year Students and Nutrition to Third Year Students in Rural Science. Part-time demonstrating to a total of 20 hours per week during term time is involved at an hourly rate of from SA 1.40 to 5A5.60 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience. Alternatively, an 8 months temporary appointment will be considered within the range 5A3375-5A4275 per annum. (March 6, 1970.) In addition for permanent academic appointments, superannuation is available, together with assistance in buying or building a home and study leave.
