Burglar Disturbed

Twice in the early hours of Thursday morning a burglar was disturbed in the Ham area.

About 3.45 a.m. a burglar was disturbed in a house in Withells Road but he took $4. He had climbed through a kitchen window. Fifteen minutes later the owner of a house in Maidstone Road heard somebody attempting to force the window of his kitchen. However, when the householder appeared the attempt was abandoned. The office of the Stoneburst Hotel, Gloucester Street, was burgled on Wednesday night and S5O was stolen. The same night a transistor radio worth $5O was stolen from a Leinster Road house and a hand-made rag doll was stolen after the Cottage Craft Shop, 964 Colombo Street, was broken into. The doll is worth $4.95.
