The two persons who left Onehunga on Tuesday to make a non-stop trip from Onehunga to Lyttelton in a 19ft runabout have sought shelter in Picton.

Woodroffe, an Auckland ship’s chandler and Mrs R. C. Moody, of Hamner Springs, are the drivers of the runabout on the trip made to advertise a new engine. Personal Item Mr P. G. Scoular was elected president of the Canterbury division of the New Zealand Institute of Management at a meeting of the divisional council this week. Mrs Woodroffe and Mrs Moody were not available for comment last evening, but Mr I. Some concern had been expressed when the boat crew did not make radio links about their condition and progress, which had been planned before they set out Mr Kirk, a former fisher man, said that the winds in the strait were moderati south-easterlies and strug gling into the lumpy sea.had proved too tough.

He said he believed tha» they meant to leave for Lyttelton as soon as pos sible. “It may be today, bui I doubt it.” Mr Kirk met the boat or its arrival at Picton.
