Intellectuals Imprisoned

(IV Z. Prost Assn Copyright* WARSAW, Feb. 25. A Warsaw provincial court today Imprisoned, for periods ranging from 27 months to one year, five Polish intellectuals convicted of belonging to “a subversive group” in contact with emigre circles in Paris. The actual sentences passed on the five, who are said to have smuggled publications and literature opposing Polish Government policy in and out of the country, were from 4( years to three years, but the court reduced the periods to be served under the terms of an amnesty decreed last July, and deducted time already spent in prison, awaiting trial.
