Situation.—An anticyclone from the Tasman Sea is moving across New Zealand as cold fronts advance towards the southern South Island from the south-west. Forecast: Canterbury.—Light to moderate variable winds, low cloud and fog areas clearing during the morning; otherwise fine and mild. Buller, North Westland.—M oder a t e variable winds; fine warm weather. South Westland.—Winds light to moderate and variable; cloud increasing and some showers developing later today; mild. Nelson, Marlborough.—Light or moderate winds from the northerly quarter; patches of morning fog and cloud soon clearing; becoming fine and warm.
