The New Zealand-bred jumpers, Swift General and Summer Flight, have been entered for the Great Eastern Steeplechase, of 3i miles, at Oakbank on March 30. Swift General won the Australian Hurdle at Caulfield at his first start over hurdles by 20 lengths and at his only other starts as a hurdler scored at Moonee Valley and Sandown. Summer Flight, after two brilliant wins over country completed a notable treble when he led throughout in the Grand National Steeplechase at Flemington. R. Howe said from Melbourne that Summer Flight would not Start over the jumps before he contested the Great Eastern. He would be given plenty of schooling over the Oakbank course and would be ridden by M. Laurence. Koorashali, twice in succession, and Blue Gum have been New Zealand-bred winners of the Great Eastern. Consolation Races (N.Z. Press Association) MELBOURNE.
