REVERSAL OF FORM
Not all the stresses and strains Of the Canterbury swimming championships were those endured by the competitors. At least one of the officials running the championships has every reason to remember them, and he was not even in the water. Unless it was hot water. He arranged to meet his wife after his duties had
been completed, and on entering the seatihg section of the pool he looked about and saw her. At least he thought it was her. She had hair of similar colour, a dress of the same shade; so he took the next seat, and her by the arm, saying that there he was dear. The lady so approached stated that she did not know him and as she turned to face him he
realised wjpat an error he had mad e - She did, however, look rather like his wife. Or so he says. He stammered out an explanation, saying he thought she was his wife. She retorted that he must be in a bad way, and asked sweetly If he had been out all night. It was an unfortunate error. But he made a worse one, a little later. He told his wife about it
