This was announced yesterday morning b.v the Waikato Racing Club secretary 'Mr J. K. Wild), who at the same time dispelled rumours that Devil Bay would noi start in the big race. Mr Wild has been advised by a part-owner of Devil Bay. Mr M. D. Kerr, that the three-year old will be a definite starter.
Devil Bay has completely recovered from the set back which has prevented him racing since his win in the Wellington Derby late last month.
Weight Corrections.—Peshawar’s weight for the Lady Norrie Stakes at Te Rapa on Saturday was incorrectly published as 8-2 instead of 8-7. Mayo Gold will carry 8-11 tn the Inter national Invitation Stakes next Tuesday and not 8-10 as has been widely published—<P.A.)

The horse had broken down in the off foreleg—the good one —and the task of getting him' right again seemed hopeless. Previously General Command had suffered a lot of trouble in the near foreleg. General Command was one of the top fancies for both the Australian and Sydney Cups. During his career he’ had 45 starts for 13 wins, four seconds! and four thirds and von $110,360 in stakes.
Good Foal Dead

DUNEDIN. Mr E. C. S. Falconer, a steward of the Dunedin Jockey Club and a well-known owner and breeder, lost a valuable foal by the highly-regarded Southland sire, Lomond, from The Fair’s Fair mare, Fair Note
A post-mortem examination revealed that the foal was suffering from a rare liver disease.
Apart from her splendid conformation and breeding Mr Falconer highly regarded this foal in particular as she is the Only filly retained from Fair Note. She was a half-sister to Bell[note and Baghdad Note.

SYDNEY. Gary Moore, the 19-year-eld son of the world renowned jockey. George Moore, has left Australia to ride for a season in France.
Moore has a contract to ride as No. 2 jockey to the leading rider, W. Pyers. for the powerful stable of M. Wildenstein, an internationally renowned antique dealer.
His horses are trained b.v M Zilber. about 20 miles from Paris.
