Wage Rise For Oil Workers
(N Z Press Association) WELLINGTON, February 10 Wage increases of up to 82.41 a week are included in an award for New Zealand oil stores employees issued today by the Court of Arbitration A head storeman in charge of five or more workers will get $2.41 more. Other increases range from 82.37 for fork-lift truck drivers to $2.10 for storemen and packers. Increases for youths range (from $2.31 for those aged between 19 and 20 to 93c for (under 17 years. Female workers received an increase in the minimum rate of $1.53 to $26.20 a week. Male storemen and packer receive $36.40 under the new award. The award is retrospective to December 15 for wages.
