REDUCED TOUR?
Newspaper Prediction (N.Z P A.-Reuter—Copyright) LONDON. In a front-page story, the ’Daily Mail” said the South African cricket tour of Britain is likely to be cut by (even weeks. Its cricket writer, Alex Jannister, said the tour would irobably last 11 weeks initead of the scheduled 18. Tames would be played at six najor grounds only—Lord’s, Trent Bridge, Edgbaston, leadingley, Old Trafford and he Oval. Bannister said he believed hese changes would be igreed at next Thursday's neeting of the cricket coun:il, when the formal decision vould be taken to go ahead vith the tour. “Instead of the traditional ixtures against all 17 firstclass counties, the idea is to play combined regional teams at the six grounds,” he said. “The big grounds are Ifess vulnerable to anti-apartheid protesters and the cost of police protection would be reduced.”
