Championship Fields Announced

(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) MELBOURNE. Stella Frost and Leading Light, two of New Zealand’s big 1970 Inter-Dominion hopes, will clash in the first series of heats at the Melbourne Show Grounds on Saturday. The Victorian Trotting Control Board has released fields for the four heats of the first qualifying division of the championship. The final acceptances for these heats will be declared on Wednesday when barrier positions will be drawn.

Leading Light and Stella Frost, due to arrive in Melbourne by plane from Christchurch on Wednesday, are drawn in the second heat.

All heats on Saturday night are over 11 furlongs and 36 yards. Garcon Roux, a gallant second to Fly Fly Bird in a mobile free-for-all over 12| furlongs at

the Show Grounds on Saturday night, at his initial Melbourne appearance, will meet last year's championship winner, Richmond Lass, in the first heat.

Garcon Roux, driven by J. Noble, was forced to race one out without a trail for the entire 12i furlongs, and failed by only a yard to catch Fly Fly Bird, which had led throughout.

The three-year-old filly. Bonnie Frost, a stablemate of Garcon Roux, started an even money favourite in a division of the Glenmore Handicap but missed a place after losing 100 yards at the start.

She stood on the mark until her rivals were nearly half a furlong in front and did remarkably well to finish eighth about 15 yards from the winner. Honest Reward.
