Judge’s Denial
Judge Harrold Carswell denied in a written testimony yesterday that he was ever hostile to civil rights lawyers or any others during his 11 years as a Federal District judge or seven months as a circuit judge. The accusation, by lawyers representing civil rights defendants, was levelled at Judge Carswell during Senate Judiciary Committee hearings on his nomination to the Supreme Court —Washington, February 6.
