NEW MODELS

A new car with a big engine of an advanced type was being designed by British Leyland specifically for the Australian market, and it would be on sale in 1972, the chairman of the British Leyland corporation (Lord Stokes) said in Australia recently. He said s2om would be spent on the new car, which would have a 95 per cent Australian content, and an Italian-designed body. Lord Stokes also said that a six-cylinder 2250 c.c. replacement for the B.L.M.C. 1800 models would go on sale in Australia before the end of this year.
