Backfire Likely At Wairoa
•‘The Press” Special Service HASTINGS. There has been fine weather in Wairoa since Monday and the track is greatly improved after the rain of last week- end. Fine weather is forecast for tomorrow and the going should be perfect for the final day. Backfire should be hardest to beat in the Wairoa Cup if he runs in this instead of at Rotorua. His form has been very good lately. Brazen Lady and Meum are expected to dispute the finish of the Tucker Handicap, which is second leg of the double, although Black Suit has been! working well enough to draw> attention to his chance.
