An Oamaru man, Colin [George Dennison, was (held to bail of £1750 and iordered to appear in I Court on February 19 in • a civil claim heard before (Mr T. A. Ross, S.M.. in the Magistrate's Court (yesterday. The Education Department : claimed $1726.18, plus $4O (costs in respect of money • allegedly owing under the (terms of a studentship scheme • entered into by Mr Dennison. No plea was entered. The Magistrate was told : that Mr Dennison received a •studentship for five years and I under the terms of the bond was required to teach in New Zealand for five year's, or re(fund the salary paid. Mr J. H. Main, appearing for the Attorney-General, said the claim was issued under a writ of arrest, as it was understood Mr Dennison was due to leave for South America on March 22. Mr Dennison said he left New Zealand in May, 1966, on a three-year contract to teach at a church school in Buenos Aires.
