Fieldsmen Praised

“The most striking feature of your team's performance in India was its brilliant fielding, which impressed the cricketing public of our country," the secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (Mr S. Sriraman) said in a letter to the New Zealand council.

Mr Sriraman congratulated New Zealand on sharing the series with India, and said that the weather "robbed" the tourists of victory in the drawn third test at Hyderabad. The New Zealanders morally won the series, assisted by the "many mag.nificent catches in the three test matches that were played. I am sure that your team’s performance in India and Pakistan will augur well for the future of your cricket," Mr Sriraman wrote.
