j (N.Z. Press Association) HAMILTON. ' A brilliant 93 by A. D. G. Roberts in Waikato’s first in- . nings was the highlight of the first day's play in the Hawke Cup cricket defence against Southland yesterday. Roberts, who hit one six and nine fours, was in commanding form from the time he went to the wicket with Waikato three wickets down for five runs from two overs.
