BURSARY OF W.R.O.
Applicants Sought No Christchurch applications have been received by the Wool Research Organisation for one of the most attractive undergraduate bursaries available in New Zealand. The organisation offers each year a bursary worth $1450, with return air fares to Sydney, for the study of textile science and technology (at the University of New South Wales. The director of the organisation (Mr N. F. Roberts) said yesterday that although the first two appointees came from Christchurch and were now doing extremely well, last year’s award went to Auckland and no Christchurch application had been received this year. “Possibly, students think the standard is higher than to give them a chance of selection, but the organisation would be interested to hear from young men who obtained; an A bursary or a university: entrance .scholarship,” Mr: Roberts said. The award would be de-l cided early next week, he: isaid. 1
