Butter Price Rise Urged
(X Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Feb. 4. The dairy section of Federated Farmers has instructed its executive t* prepare a case for a 5 per cent increase in the basic price of butter next season. The council said at a meeting today that it made the decision in view of the substantial increases in the cost of production and the need to retain the confidence and economic viability of the dairy industry. The meeting also carried a resolution suggesting that dairy farmers have greater representation on the Meat Board. Mr R. G. Calvert, of Tua-, kau, said that with the grow-: ing emphasis on dairy beefand the percentage of thisj meat being killed and ex ' ported, dairy fanners thought: they had a strong case forj greater representation.
