“WET LOOK” SHOES
The main news for shoes in 1970 is the “wet look” in both real and mock leather, writes Zalia Thomas from London. Many of the shoes shown recently by the British Footwear Manufacturers’ Federation at its London spring preview were two-tone In colouring. Toes were full and round. Heels of all heights were often squared at the back, and usually made in a contrasting colour. Gilt or silvery gilt persisted for buckles and chain trimmings and for complete heels in some models.
The photograph shows a pair of pink and white "wet look” shoes with a tongue asd bow trim. j
