Assistant Commissioners Appointed
Two Marlborough-born men whose careers have several parallels—Messrs A. J. Healy and G. L. Jackson—have been appointed assistant commissioners of the State Services Commission. Mr Healy, who is 44, was born at Blenheim and educated at Marlborough College. He joined the Lands and Survey Department in 1942 and worked at Blenheim, Christchurch, Nelson and Napier before being appointed to the State Services Commission as an inspector in 1964. Mr Jackson, who is 43, was
(born at Ward and was educated at the Christchurch Technical College. He joined the Lands and Survey Department in 1943 and worked at Wellington, Invercargill and Rotorua. He was appointed an assistant inspector of the State Services Commission in 1957. Since 1957 Mr Jackson has held the positions of advisory officer, inspector, investigating officer, and superintendent of the arbitration branch of the State Services Commission. Mr Healy has been successively inspector, senior management services officer and senior inspector.
