Grocer’s Shop Burgled

Cigarettes, matches and confectionery of a total value of $2BO were stolen during the week-end from the Self Help shop in Hoon Hay and tools worth $33 were stolen from the Town Hall building site. The Trades Hall, Glouces* ter Street, was broken into on Friday night through a skylight of the three-storev building. The offices of the New Zealand Workers’ Union and the Shop Assistants’ Union, both on the top floor, were entered, as was the office of the Canterbury Freezing Workers’ Union on the first floor. Nothing is known to have been stolen.
