GLASSWARE EXPORTS

Firm Orders Received Firm orders for New Zealand glassware in Britain and the United States worth $130,000, and quotations outstanding to American firms for machine and hand-made table and domestic glassware valued at $450,000, have been obtained by Mr J. K. Dobson, manager of the glass division of Alex Harvey Industries, Ltd, Auckland. Mr Dobson spent 12 weeks in discussions with manufacturers and buyers in Britain, Sweden, Belgium, France, Germany, Japan, Canada and the United States. One British contract is for a range of glassware worth $120,000 annually. As a result of his 12-week tour Mr Dobson has also begun negotiations for reciprocal trade agreements with the countries he visited.
