Gardena Tour The Botanic Gardens “tOMt- . rack” vehicle will start running commerdaily tomorrow afternoon. It had a test run on December 9, but was withdrawn from service for minor adjustments to the propulsion unit It will be returned to the gardens tomorrow morning and used bn a two-month trial, after which the fares—30c for adults and 10c for children—will be reviewed. No Objection No objection would be offered to the Canterbury Aero Club’s request to the Paparua County Council for consent to a specified departure to enable land at West Melton to be used' as an aerodrome, the North Canterbury Catchment Board decided yesterday.
Beach Inspected Members of the committee set up to represent the three surf-riding clubs in Christchurch in discussions on the proposed restriction of surfboards at Scarborough Beach met Mr J. Hughes, of the reserves department of the Christchurch City Council, yesterday morning. In the afternoon officers of the department and a representative of surf-riders inspected the area in debate, and an announcement is expected from the Town Clerk (Mr M. B. Hayes), on Monday. Trees For Sale Tenders should be called for the sale of about 40 acres of trees in the Eyre area, the North Canterbury Catchment Board decided yesterday. The trees had been damaged in the 1968 storm.
