PUBLIC NOTICES PROPOSED MORVEN - GLENAVY IRRIGATION DISTRICT NOTICE declaring a proposed irrigation district, defining its boundaries, and notifying the charges payable. Pursuant to Sections 4 and 5 of the Public Works Amendment Act 1960, the Minister of Works hereby declares the area of land the boundaries of which are defined in the First Schedule hereto to be a proposed irrigation district to be known as the proposed avy Irrigation District; and hereby notifies that: (1) the proposed water quota for the land in the District not exempted pursuant to section 13 of the said Act shall be 24 inches over the land commanded by supply points; (2) the irrigation charge which will be payable for half of the water quota shall be one . dollar eighty cents per acre of land in the District commanded by supply points and not exempted as aforesaid, reducible over the first nine irrigation seasons of supply to the charges set out in the Second Schedule hereto; (3) the respective charges which will be payable for such water as may be supplied in excess of half the proposed water quota but not in excess of the total proposed water quota shall be at the rate of ninety cents per acre-foot of water received from supply points*, (4) a copy of the plan referred to in the First Schedule hereto is deposited in the office of the Waimate County Council at Waimate and is there open for to; spection. FIRST SCHEDULE BOUNDARIES OF THE PROPOSED MORVEN-GLENAVY IRRIGATION DISTRICT All that area in the Canterbury Land District, Waimate County, containing 26,300 acres, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at a point on the mean high water mark of the sea in line with the southern side of Maori Road, Block IV, Waitaki Survey District, and proceeding southerly along that high water mark to a point in line with the northern side of Fisheries Road, Block XV Waitaki Survey District; thence westerly to and along that roadside and the roadside forming the southern boundaries of Section 112 and part Section 114, Reserve 642. to the south-west-ern corner of the last mentioned section, continuing westerly along a right line to the southeastern corner of part Reserve 2915, continuing westerly along the roadside forming the southern boundaries of that reserve and parts Section 110, Reserve 642. Rural Sections 21847, 24912, 29586, 32458. Sections 5, 4 and 3, Reserve 866, passing through R. S. 3240 and forming the southern boundaries of Sections 2 and 1 Reserve 886, R.S.’s 26947, 23785 32181. 24986, 28479, 31451 and 35935 to the south-western corner of the last mentioned section; thence westerly and northerly along the northern and eastern sides of the road passing through R.S. 33933 and the production of the last mentioned roadside to the northern side of Tawai-Ikawai Road; thence westerly along that roadside to the western boundary of Section 5, Block IX, Waitaki Survey District; thence northerly along that boundary to the southern side of Middle Road; thence easterly generally along the southern side of that road. Tawad-Ikawal Road and Old Ferry Road to the northern side of Pikes Point Road; thence easterly along that roadside to the eastern boundary of Lot 2, D.P. 16761, thence northerly and westerly along the eastern boundary of that lot and the eastern and northern boundaries of Lot 1, D.P. 16761, to the eastern side of Old Ferry Road; thence northerly along that roadside to the south-western corner of Section 23, Block VII, Waitaki Survey District; thence easterly and northerly along the southern and eastern boundaries of that section to the northern boundary of Section 8, Block XI. Waitaki Survey District; thence easterly along that boundary and its production to the eastern side of No. 1 State Highway; thence northerly along that roadside to the southern boundary of Section 2, Reserve 631; thence easterly along that boundary and the southern boundaries of R.S.’s 17027 and 19581 and the production of the last mentioned boundary to the eastern side of Crowes Road; thence northerly along that roadside to the western boundary of Section 8, Block VII Waitaki Survey District; thence southerly, easterly and northerly along the western southern and eastern boundaries of that section and northerly along the eastern boundary of Section 24, Block VII, Waitaki Survey District and its production to the northern side of Morven Beach Road; thence westerly along that roadside to the eastern side of Crowes Road; thence northerly along that roadside to the southern side of Maori Road: thence easterly along that roadside and its production to the point of commencement. As the same is more particularly shown edged red on a plan deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and marked M.O.W. 23876. SECOND SCHEDULE REDUCED IRRIGATION CHARGES SEASON OF SUPPLY—First season. Charge: Eighteen cents per acre. Second season: Thirty-six cents per acre. Third season: Fifty-four cents per acre. Fourth season: Seventy two cents per acre. Fifth season: Ninety cents per acre. Sixth season: One dollar eight cents per acre. Seventh season: One dollar tweenty six cents per acre.
