BANDSAW BLADES

Increases In Duty (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Jan. 29. Increased duty on imported bandsaw blades and large sizes of toothed bandsaw blading was announced today by the Minister of Customs (Mr Adams-Schneider). The higher duty rates stem from a recommendation by the Tariff and Development Board, which sought “reasonable protection for the New Zealand industry manufacturing these goods.” British preferential rates of 20 per cent are the lowest in the new scale.
