POLLUTION RESEARCH
Formation Of Institute (N.Z. Press Association) ROTORUA, January 28. The D.S.I.R. will establish a freshwater research institute in Rotorua to examine the pollution of the region’s lakes and waterways. This is announced in a letter from the Minister of Science (Mr Taiboys) to the Rotorua County Council. The initial research programme would investigate chemical, biological and physical changes in a number of Rotorua lakes as a result of run-off from agricultural land and other sources, the Minister reported.
