Training Ship Prize Giving

The annual prize-giving ceremony for members of th* training ship Steadfast was held at Pegasus.

The unit was only six points behind the winner of the Dominion sea cadet inspection efficiency • competition for IM9. However, the unit won the boatpulling contest for all Christchurch sea cadet units at the end of the year. Prizes were awarded to the following:—

Most outstanding cadet, Leading Cadet H. Common; the cadet who by his own effort had done most to advance the cause of the corps, Leading Cadet R. Seaward: best senior shot, Leading Cadet D. Sears: best junior shot, Junior Cadet D. Good: best communicator, Leading Cadet L. Retalllck; best attendance. Junior Cadet p. Jones; best dressed cadet. Junior Cadet D. Anderson; best grst-year cadet, Junior Cadet I. Cameron. ’

Saba sailing race: Instructor Cadet M. Godfrey; interwatch guard, port watch; best guard petty officer. Petty Officer Cadet J. Godfrey; interwatch boat rigging, starboard watch: inter-watch boat pulling, starboard watch: Interwatch whaler sailing, port watch; inter-watch swimming, starboard watch; athletic trophy, port watch; IMS senior ratings trophy, starboard watch.
