DALGETY PLAN

Properties For Sale

Dalgety and New Zealand Loan, Ltd, intended to sell more of its pastoral properties, the chairman (Lieu-tenant-Colonel C. P. Dawnay) told the annual meeting in London on Friday. Some of the group’s properties were acquired in the take-over of the New Zealand and Australian Land Company, Ltd.

This take-over is now complete, and the management of the N.Z.A.L. stations in Australia and New Zealand has been merged with the management of the stations already owned. “One of our main objectives in making this purchase was to enable us to rationalise our pastoral holdings by establishing a well balanced and profitable group of stations from the properties we already owned plus those of N.Z.A.L. and by disposing of the remainder,” Colonel Dawnay said. “Action has already been taken to implement this plan. “As a consequence our total present capital Investment in broad acres will be significantly reduced and the funds thus released will be diverted to other trading activities with, I trust, improving profit yields. ■
