MISSILE RACE
Full Talks Expected (N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) HELSINKI, Dec. 8. It is believed that the United States and the Soviet Union will soon announce a full-scale strategic arms limitation conference for'early in the New Year. ■' The fourth week of preliminary talks aimed at halting the missile race opened at Helsinki today. The United States Secretary of State (Mr William Rogers) said last week that the meetings might go on for another two weeks. But there are indications, now that only three or four more sessions may be needed. The Russians and Americans are expected to announce within the next eight to 10 days that they have agreed to convene the main strategic arms limitation conference.
The two delegations had only two meetings last week, but are thought likely to meet on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday this-week.
