Study Of -Protest (fI.Z.p.A -Heuter—-Cofw/iaht) WASHINGTON, Nov. 19. The United States Justice Department disclosed yesterday that it bad begun an investigation to determine whether some of the participants in last Saturday’s anti-war demonstrations violated the Federal anti-riot law. The statute prohibits crossing a state line for the purpose of Inciting violence, and is the basis tor the trial in Chicago of seven men charged with instigating unrest at the 1968 Democratic national convention. The Justice Department statement followed another attack from the administration on the anti-war protesters, this time by the Post-master-General (Mr Winton Blount)—just back from Vietnam. He told a press conference that the troops supported the President’s policy and that, his at home were The New Mobilisation Committee said liter: "We are shocked at the arrogance of the Government in its belief that a clearly peaceful demonstration for peace by nearly a million citizens is a possible violation of the law.”
