Opening match
A New Zealand Marist Rugby league team will play a New Zealand Invitation XIII at Wellington next Easter to mark the opening of the code’s new ground in that city. The match will probably be played on Easter Sunday and members of the Australian cricket team, which will be playing in Wellington during Easter, will be invited to attend. The Invitation XIII is expected to include eight Kiwis, the remaining players being Wellington representatives. Although the Auckland Marist and New Zealand prop, O: G. Danielson, has signed for the Sydney club, Newtown, New Zealand Marist might include the current or recent Kiwis, M. P. Brereton, J. D. Hibbs, J. K. Dixon (West Coast), C. E. O’Neil G. M. J. Smith (Wellington), A. P. Kriletich (Auckland), and R. S. J. Irvine (Canterbury).
