Parliament’s Diary

When Parliament reconvened yesterday afternoon notification of the Royal assent to 61 bills was received. The annual report of the Industrial Design Council, a communique on the fivepower defence talks, and commentaries on the report of the Royal Commission of Inquiry into Compensation for Personal Injury, were among papers tabled. The following bills were cleared through all stages: Maori Purpose, Companies Amendment, Reserves and Other Lands Disposal, Local Legislation, Public Bodies Leases, Counties Amendment, Wairarapa Cadet Training Farm, Finance, Hotel Association of New Zealand, Sale of Liquor Amendment, Sale of Liquor'Amendment (No. 2), Urban Renewal and Housing Improvement.
