OVERSEAS TRADING

SYDNEY The Sydney stock market was! generally firm in a day of lively trading. Rises outnumbered falls in all sectors although many of the market leaders lost ground. The biggest gain of the day was recorded by Norseman Gold. The heavy-weights turned easier, with Mount Isa falling 20c to 970 c, and Western Mining 15c down to 1260 c. Poseidon was again only quietly traded, slipping 100 c to 2650 c. Oils were very firm. B.H.P. went against the generally firm trend in industrials by falling .10c to 1505 c. The closing tone was unsettled.
