(NZPA-Reuter—Copgright; | MADRAS. The Indian cricket board of control will take up with New Zealand the dispute over mowing the pitch! which flared up in the final cricket test at Hyderabad last week-end. Mr S. Spirman, secretary of the board, also claimed in a press statement that the New Zealand team interfered with the umpires. Mr Spirman said that the umpires ordered the pitch to be mown last Saturday before the start of play. “But the New Zealand cap-

tain (G. T. Dowling) protested and threatened that his team would not take the field if the pitch were cut I “The umpires also reported that the New Zealand captain interferred with them in the discharge of their duty. “We are in full agreement with the umpires’ view that the pitch should have been mown that day.” Mr Spirman added that, after further discussion, the matter would be taken up with the New Zealand Cricket Council.
