ONE OF THE VICTORS IN THE BATTLE OF THE RIVER PLATE, the former New Zealand cruiser Achilles, entering Auckland Harbour on Sunday. She is now named Delhi and is a training ship in the Indian Navy. As H.M.N.Z.S. Achilles, she won a place in history in December, 1939, when, with the British light cruisers Ajax and Exeter, she intercepted the German pocket battleship Admiral Graf Spee, whose armament was superior to that of all three cruisers, and won the Battle of the River Plate. The Delhi will be in New Zealand waters until October 30 as the guest of the Government and will visit Wellington after her stay in Auckland.
