DEATH OF DIVER
(N.Z. Press Association) WHAKATANE, Oct 22. A young man drowned in the Whakatane River, at Porporo. last evening. He was Alfred Alexander Luckin, aged 23, whose parents live in Rotorua. Mr Luckin was scuba diving in the river at 5.45 p.m. when he was seen to be in difficulties. Before help could reach him he disappeared. His body was found later.
