66-Acre Block For Developing

A block of 66 acres has been bought by Blogg Property Development, Ltd, in Bromley, for about $250,000.

The land will be developed for housing and is expected to be subdivided into more than 300 sections a shopping centre and probably a park. Mr B. Blogg said yesterday that the land was bounded by McGregors, Keighleys, Bromley and Ruru Roads. An unformed street, Raymond Road, would be formed and other roads would be required. The land is near the growing industrial centre, bounded by Dyers and Maces Roads

but separated from it by the Memorial Park and Ruru Lawn Cemeteries, and the Bromley School. McGregors Road and Linwood Avenue will give direct access from the housing area to the city. Mr Blogg said that Davie, Lovell Smith and partners were working on a development and landscaping plan for the block. The land was zoned rural and an application for a specified departure from that zoning would be made to the City Council, he said.
